Why is there not a ban on the amount of packaging waste used on things like kids toys?
My son got a set with pencils and tonnes of other stuff in it and it took him about half and hour to get all the packaging off, which took up a tonne of space in my recycling bin.And it seem the cheaper the items the more elaborately packaged they are.Why with all this green thing going on are company's still able to pump out so much plastic?
Are today's kids toys too PC? ?
Yesterday I saw WW2 German soldier action figure with no Nazi or even Wehrmacht insignia on the uniform, but when I was a kid in the 80's I had an SS Action man, complete with SS insignia and swastikas. What gives, are today's toymakers just total wimps, don't they want kids to know history, and have credible 'bad guys' to play with?
Would it be wrong to dump half my kids toys?
I have three great kids, and when I was at home all day my house was neat and tidy, but now I'm working I'm struggling to find time to keep the kids toys under control. Each of my children has an underbed box for toys big enough for them to get into, as well as a large bookshelf full of boxes for toys, and a huge box on wheels for their books. The problem I have is getting the kids to put all their toys away at the end of each day, even if it's just clearing the living room, not the bedrooms. I think we have too many toys, and I want to get rid of at least half, but my husband strongly disagrees. My kids have 8 uncles and aunts, grandparents and friends who always give them toys for Christmas and birthdays, and we have a good friend who always goes overboard. As an example, my son is 5 months old, and already owns three separate slot car sets. My 5 yr old owns 10 Barbies already. I bought her two, but the rest are from relatives this Christmas. I am drowning under a sea of cheap plastic junk and I am ready to give at least half to charity. Would it be awful of me to do this? Should I make my husband and kids decide what to keep, or should I just sort it out myself? Who's done this before, and what was the reaction?
What are the bendy string kids toys called?
I saw a commercial for them on nick junior, I think it starts with a 'B'. At one point in the commercial there's this little girl with a bunch of spiders made out of the bendy sticks. I can't remember the name and it's driving me crazzzzy.

Where can I sell my kids toys they have outgrown other than ebay and craigslist?
I'd like to try to make a little extra cash for Christmas. I've tried to list in my local newspaper, that didn't work. I don't want to pay the high fees for listing on ebay. Craigslist does not have a community near my home, and I doubt I'd get any responses. Are there any other options out there other than a yard sale?

Where can I find Polygons - kids toy?
I have a kindergartener that loves playing with " Polygons" they pronounce them Poly Johns at school. They are flat plastic toys of different shapes that you can hook together to build things. I have found many shape sets online, but none of them match what I'm looking for. Any ideas are welcome, thanks.
